Photography : Land & Sky: Desert snow

Snow falls in the desert, just not quite as often as in other places. On a "good" year we might get one decent snowfall that covers the ground. Since the snow only lasts a day before melting, it's important to enjoy it while it lasts. While walking around with friends and admiring the snow-coverd campus, I couldn't resist this gorgeous golden glowing tree and the sharp contrast it provided with the start surroundings.

I might have also amused myself by getting a shot of the NMSU's Astronomy department juxtaposed with snow-capped oak leaves.
