: Land & Sky : A Splash of Autumn

I'm from the East Coast, where Fall means the green chlorophyll dies and leaves (get it? "leaves" like "leaves on a tree) the trees looking as bright and colorful as if they were on fire. Leafy deciduous trees don't do well in the arid Southwest, certainly not my favorite splashy maple trees. Each Autumn I miss those bold colors! There are a few bright spots around town, though. These trees are just outside the Astronomy building on NMSU campus.

As a random note, I like the word "Autumn" more than I like the word "Fall". It just sounds nicer. When I get tired of my name getting messed up by people who take my order, I'll use "Autumn" as my name.
