Photography : Fauna: Sunlit Spider

The sunlight turned this Western Spotted Orb Weaver into glowing stained glass suspended in its deceptively delicate-looking web. Since these spiders are so colorful, I erroneously assumed it was poisonous. I've had one of these (shown below, looking especially creepy due to red-eye) try to spin its web over the door to my apartment. After a few days I convinced it that spinning a web on the hallway ceiling was a better idea.
