Photography : Birds : Chillin Sparrows

A group of sparrows fluffs up agains the Winter cold for an afternoon nap in the Sun outside a cafe in Washington DC. Technically, they are finches, but most people know them by the name sparrow. By fluffing their feathers, birds trap air and insulate themselves against the cold. They also sleep with the heads tucked behind their back and into a wing, like the sparrow on the left.
