This handsome fellow with the intense eyes is a Red-tailed Hawk. The picture below this shows the famous red tail. He is an outreach animal from Nature's Nursery, a widlife rehabilitation and education facility. Red-tailed hawks are found all over North America. I even got buzzed by one as I drove home one day: the beauty sailed right across the bridge 15 feet in front of my car. So effortlessly elegant and lethal!
