Photography : Birds : Late Afternoon Mourning Dove
A mourning dove rests on stone steps to enjoy the morning sunlight. These little sweeties are shyer than White Winged Doves, so I don't see them very often. They have a calming call that reminds me of my parents' house on the East Coast. The second picture below is what I originally thought was a mourning dove seen on a chain-link fence in Las Cruces, but now I think it might be a ground dove.
