Photography : Birds : Owl have what she's having

A Barn Owl keeps his cool during an outreach event held by Nature's Nursery, a widlife rehabilitation and education facility. Aside from their stunning beauty, Barn Owls are most famous for their ability to fly completely silent due to shape of wing feathers. Analysis of this could possibly help airplanes reduce turbulence. Their reputation for being mighty night hunters is also due to their exquisite hearing. They can adjust the feathers of their face to better funnel sound to their ears, like feather satellite dishes. Their ears are asymmetric, which allows them to pinpoint the location of prey in 3D.
