Photography : Flora : Focus on the Hibiscus
I visited the Botanic Garden in Washington DC and brought my camera along out of idle curiousity. I found some gorgeous plants and flowers, including this hibiscus.I think the hibiscus is my second favorite flower (after the gladiolus, of course). They have large bright flowers and seem to beam fiercely and cheerfully at the world. I attempted to be artistic with this shot by having the background be out of focus. As I look at many of my pictures, I realize they are nearly all flat. I don't seem to play around with depth of field as much, so this is my attempt to practice.
