Photography : Birds : Sleepy Amazon Triptych A yellow-headed amazon settles in for a snooze by the waterfall, unimpressed with the stream of visitors coming through the aviary at the top of the Baltimore Aquarium in Maryland. In all of the pictures the amazon is standing on one foot with the other tucked under its feathers, which is how all birds big and small sleep (if I do this, I just fall over). Even if you miss the clue of the single foot, the yawning (middle) and subsequent cat-napping (right) indicate a sleepy bird settling for a little siesta.
